AI Technical Product Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director of Product, AI Technologies, Innovation, and Strategy, the AI Technical Product Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of high-impact AI solutions, from ideation to launch and continuous monitoring. You will set goals, extend data creation and labeling frameworks, incept new efficient scalability investments, and drive feature delivery, and integration with scaled digital health solutions. Reaching people with care at the last mile requires innovative thinking, moving fast, rigorous prioritization, and deep partnership with a growing set of local partners across Africa and India. This role requires technical expertise in AI/ML, collaboration skills, and strategic insight to translate complex problems into impactful solutions that scale effectively for diverse health needs globally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Lifecycle & Stakeholder Collaboration: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of scalable AI-powered web services, mobile apps, and monitoring tools, working closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to align on goals and deliver impact.
Customer-Centric Solutions: Understand complex customer problems and health delivery environments, define scalable solutions that meet specific needs, and set clear product specifications, schedules, milestones, and quality bars.
External Partnership Management: Own the relationship, alignment, and execution of projects with external partners, providing digestible, timely updates on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Define Success & Delivery: Establish goals for accuracy, local viability, and scalability. Define and track metrics for success while transparently communicating progress, prioritizing issues, and ensuring excellence in execution and compliance with local privacy and data policies.
User and Clinical Research: Actively participate in user and implementation research in collaboration with external partners and the product team, incorporating findings to refine and optimize product design and impact.
Market Analysis & Technology Evaluation: Assess new technologies’ feasibility and scalability for low- and middle-income country contexts, recommending future investments, and supporting grant proposals to fund technology investments.
Continuous Improvement: Monitor AI product performance, user needs, competitive offerings, and technological trends, continuously identifying and implementing enhancements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in product management, particularly with AI/ML solutions, with experience taking AI innovations from ideation through to launch.
Technical Expertise: deep understanding and experience guiding development of AI (CV, ML, Gen AI) models , AI training and evaluation data creation, ground truth labeling strategies, AI monitoring frameworks, data science fundamentals, and data visualization.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make strategic, data-driven product decisions.
Project Management & Communication: Proven project management skills, with attention to detail and effective communication across diverse, cross-functional teams – internal & external.
Experience in developing and deploying scalable AI-powered web services, mobile applications, and monitoring tools.
Bonus: familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Slack, Plotly, and Figma.
